  Stories by Fireside

  Derek, the White Umfan (Zulu for little boy), was raised in the   mountains of Northern Transvaal in Africa and is a master storyteller in the   tradition of old. Join him for African stories by the fireside, for all ages.

  Archival Film Evening

  Brendan Gaffney is a private collector of New Zealand archival films. He is   going to bring down a lucky dip for us to enjoy, with a fun look back into New   Zealand's history from the mid 1940s.

  Live Music

  A range of live music throughout the evening from traditional Irish music to classic jazz to a bit of James Taylor.

Thursday 12 August
  Native bush walking tour

  Terry Hatch runs Joy Plants in Pukekohe and has an in depth knowledge of plants which has been built up over a lifetime dedicated to their growth and preservation. He has made guest appearances on TV gardening shows and presents talks to gardening   groups throughout the country. He has also been involved in ecological restoration   projects on Mercury and Little Barrier Islands. Terry will lead a presentation   at the cafe from 10 am to midday, followed by lunch and then a bush walk. Terry will be speaking about New Zealand's native fauna and flora, including identification and propagation and focussing on a few more unusual species along the way. Bring walking shoes.

  Northumbrian Smallpipes

  Helen Capes will play the Northumbrian Smallpipes, with tunes, tales and songs   from North East England.

  Woolcraft Morning

  Spinners, weavers, knitters, felters and wannabes all skill levels and   interests welcome. Come and be creative around the fire.

  Ladies Evening

  A night of food and wine for the girls. A special three course menu matched   with wines and accompanied by tasting notes. This night clashes with Master Chef night at Glen Murray Hall, so it still be in Sept but date to be confirmed later.

  Arts and Crafts Festival

  We are excited to host our second Arts and Crafts Festival which showcases local   artisans work and gives an early start on Christmas shopping. We would love   buskers to perform on our new outdoor stage so please call us if you are interested.

  Quiz Night

  Join us for our inaugural Quiz Night. Get a team together or join up with a   team when you arrive.

  Pink Tea Party and Charity Auction
